Man Dies in Monroe County Accident

A 25-year-old Stroudsburg man died Wed. night after his vehicle struck a utility pole in Monroe County.

The accident happened on State Route 3023 around 8:15 p.m. Officials say the man’s Ford swiped the side of a Honda, which caused his car to swerve off the road and hit the utility pole. The man died at the scene. The reason the man sideswiped the Honda is unknown. The investigation on the crash continues.

High School Football Player Killed in Car Accident

A two-vehicle accident in Columbia Township, Pennsylvania caused the death of a Troy High School football player on Sunday morning.

Authorities believe that the 17 year-old lost control of his car and swerved into oncoming traffic, striking a pickup truck heading the opposite direction on State Route 14.

2 Teens Killed, 1 Injured in Wednesday Crash

Two teens are dead and one injured following a Wednesday morning crash on West Kings Highway

Chester County First Assistant District Attorney Patrick Carmody called the accidents “tragic.”

Thee West Caln teenagers were involved in a two vehicle collision shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. West Caln Township Police Chief Curt A. Martinez says that 18 year-old Zachary Joseph McGehrin was traveling east on West Kings Highway in a Pontiac Sunfire when he crossed the center lane and collided head on with a sanitation truck. Two passengers in the Sunfire, 17 year-old Victoria Lynne Garvin and 18 year-old John Joseph Sherman Jr. were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. McGehrin was flown to Reading Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the trash truck, 61 year-old Gene Bennett, was not injured in the crash.

1 Dead, 1 Missing in Boat Accident

On Tuesday afternoon, a boating accident occurred in West Chester. Two kayakers were on Brandywine Creek near the East Bradford Township/West Goshen Township border in Chester county when they were seen going over a dam.

One body was found shortly after the boat went over. The other man is missing and has been presumed dead as well. The cause of the accident is currently unknown. No one else was involved or injured.
