Child injured in two-car accident outside Philadelphia Zoo

Sunday afternoon, a 4-year old child was injured in a two-car accident that occurred just outside the Philadelphia Zoo.

Philadelphia police reported that the accident happened at the intersection of 33rd Street and Girard Avenue and caused one vehicle to flip over.  The child was ejected from the vehicle that flipped in the accident.  Officials are unsure of what caused the accident.

Emergency officials arrived on scene quickly and transported the child to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in serious condition.  A 60-year old woman was also taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries and was listed as being in stable condition.
