Armstrong Co. Man Killed in Vehicle Fire

A man from Cowanshannock Township, Armstrong County was killed in a fire that started after his car crashed through a garage in Pennsylvania.

According to officials with the Conemaugh Township Police Department, 76 year-old Norman Brown was killed in the fire. Firefighters found the victim inside a vehicle that had crashed through the door of a garage. The property is located on Tunnelton Road in Conemaugh Township.

According to the Armstrong County Coroner’s Office, asphyxia due to smoke inhalation was Brown’s  cause of death. X-rays were used to identify brown due to the severity of his injuries from the fire. Officials could not comment on how the accident occurred, or what caused the fire.

The accident remains under investigation.
