Man Dies in Fire After Car Crash

A Pennsylvania man was killed in a fire caused by a car crash.
According to officials with the Pennsylvania State Police, 76 year-old Norman Brown, of Cowanshannock Township, Armstrong County, was killed in the fire. Firefighters found the victim inside a car that had crashed through the door of a garage on Tunnelton Road in Conemaugh Township.
X-rays were used to identify Brown because of the severity of his injuries from the fire. The Armstrong County Coroner ruled asphyxia due to smoke inhalation as Brown’s cause of death. Officials have not been able to make a decision about how the car crash occurred, how the fire started, or what Brown’s intentions were.
The accident remains under investigation.
