Three people were killed in a car crash in western Pennsylvania Sunday.
Authorities say two men and a woman were killed as they attempted to negotiate a curve on Interstate 376 shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday. Police say their vehicle left the roadway and careened down a wooded hillside near the entrance of the Fort Pitt tunnels. The car came to a stop when it’s underside became wedged against trees that line the Banksville Road commercial district.
All three of the vehicles passengers were killed. The names of the victims have not been released, pending notification of their families. Police say that, following the crash, the 18 year-old driver and 18 year-old passenger were able to exit the vehicle and call for help.
The cause of the crash is still unknown.
