A pedestrian is dead following a three car pile-up on U.S. Route 15 in Pennsylvania.
According to Northern County Regional police, a pedestrian was standing outside a vehicle that had become stuck in a snowbank on the side of the highway when he was struck by a 2006 Honda Element driven by 63 year-old Nancy Slater of Newfield, New York. The Honda was then struck by a 2002 Dodge Ram driven by 43 year-old Anthony Moats. Moats’ vehicle then collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 50 year-old Michael Mummert, of Wauseon, Ohio.
Police say the crash occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 15. Emergency medical services declared the 62-year-old pedestrian dead at the scene.
47 year-old Joan Caine was transported via ambulance to Holy Spirit Hospital. Her condition is not known.
