Jury Awards Stripper $100K for DUI Wreck

Posted on February 4th, 2010 No Comments

A jury in Jefferson County Alabama has awarded a former exotic dancer $100,000 in a lawsuit in which she claimed the club where she was employed failed to stop her from driving home after her on-the-job drinking.

Patsy Hamaker of Bessemer was injured in a car crash after leaving work at the Birmingham strip club The Furnace on October 17, 2007. Hamaker claims she can no longer dance because of her injuries.

Attorneys for Hamaker said that the club disregarded its own safety rules when it let her drive home. The $100,000 was awarded for compensatory damages. No punitive damages were awarded.
