2 Students Killed, 2 Injured in Car Accident

Two Slippery Rock Area High School students were killed in a car accident Wednesday night. A third student and a graduate were injured.

The accident occurred on Route 488 in Muddy Creek near Portersville. According to police, the car the four were in was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a utility pole. 18 year-old Aaron Jonathon Rensel and 18 year-old Corey Jones were both killed in the crash.

Kirk Hines, 20, and 18 year-old Justin Angerett were both injured in the accident. Angerett is listed as in serious condition, Hines is listed as being in critical condition. Authorities could not determine who was driving, as all four were thrown from the car.
