Two Apollo men died on Saturday when a teenage driver lost control of a sport utility vehicle and collided with their vehicle head on.
The accident occurred around 4:50 p.m. Saturday in Boggs Township, a few miles north of Kittaning. According to Pennsylvania state police, a teenage lost control of his SUV on a wet road and struck an oncoming vehicle, killing two men.
Robert Bower, the Armstrong County Coroner, said 53 year-old William Weiler Jr. and 53 year-old Robert Girdano died of blunt force trauma. Neither of the men was wearing a seat belt.
The teenage driver was not seriously injured. Authorities have not released the teen’s name.
