Officer Fired for Hit and Run

Posted on August 5th, 2009 No Comments

In Crafton, a borough council voted 7 to 1 to immediately terminate a police officer who was recently implicated in a hit and run accident. The officer surrendered on July 3, and has been on suspension ever since. He offered to resign, but was fired before the resignation took effect.

The hit and run occurred on July 20, 2007. In the crash, a 24 year old man was killed. Until recently, the driver had not been found. The officer is now charged with involuntary manslaughter and other related charges.
