In Quakertown, a fireworks related explosion occurred at the beginning of the grand finale of the town’s firework show. Around 9:45pm, one of the fireworks misfired and hit a pyrotechnic employee in the chest.

The 19 year old employee was given first aid and was transported to St Luke’s Hospital in Quartertown for treatment. He was later pronounced dead there. Around 10,000 people were at the show and were evacuated after the accident. None of them were injured.
